A lot of this journal will be public, but the more personal entries are going to be friends only, just so people coming to my journal for the first time don't think I'm a whiny emo kid. They can find that out when they add me. (No, I kid. I am sweetness and light) So, comment to be added. I'm not fussy, and new friends are always nice.
I chose this date because it'll be my 40th birthday. Slightly depressing, really.
And remember kids: Video DID kill the radiostar.
Just so you know: I do NOT add people I know in real life, unless we're already good friends. Just in case!

Inexplicably, I find Alex and TomA much funnier on the radio than I do when they are living in my house.

Thanks to all of you who have hit up recordsonribs so far, thanks to site stats I can tell who you are as well:) You are all awesome! Let us know what you think, too.
And listen to this now.
They've had well over a thousand hits so far, random strangers have already started donating money, drowned in sound have got an article about them and yes! All good.

I just turned a dress of hideousness (shoulder pads, floor length) into a short flouncy tea dress! I am a genius! It only took me about an hour and a half to sort my sewing machine out, another hour to thread it and make it work properly once I'd put it back together, and then about twenty minutes to actually cut it, hem it and tear the shoulder pads out. Ha. But still, Yes! Total cost: 50p. Photos to follow......

[01/10/2008 @ 10:05pm] |
Ok, so as some of you might already know, my boyfriend and two of his friends are launching their record label, Records On Ribs on Tuesday of next week here:http://recordsonribs.com/
"Records On Ribs is a record label that distributes all its music as free, high-quality downloads under a Creative Commons license as well as lovingly packaged, fairly priced and beautifully made traditional formats."
So yeah, free albums! Lots of different types of music on there but I would especially reccomend We Show Up On Radar (who are shortly to be on an AOL advert!) who are heartbreakingly lovely and twee.
Go here:http://nottinghamac.facebook.com/profile.php?id=5956134707 to see what is being released on Tuesday. And join, sign up, download and spread the news!
If anyone writes a music blog, or for any kind of website/magazine...it'd be good to get a mention! It's not a money making exercise (fairly obviously) but they want as many people as possibly to use the website, and Alex has spent fucking hours making the website so, it'd be great if people visited:)

Thought I'd better make an unlocked post to explain my recent mass defriending- I've pretty much given up on the old LJ now, just keeping it for comm purposes and a few journals. But please stay in touch via facebook, email, post whatever! I just have no real want to write anymore. Love to you all xxx

I bought those shoes the other day and they are PERFECT. They are much blacker and nicer than that photo, and don't even hurt that much thanks to the thick platform sole. I have decided to wear high heels every day this week 9except maybe monday as I don't want to fall flat on my face at my interview, thanks very much) to get used to them.
I am going to make a lemon drizzle cake today, than spend a gazillion hours doing my presentation for the interview. Argh.

I like this paper a lot. I might have a go at the suggested puzzle too, as seen in nature's free association blog. I love that blog.
In other science related news, I haven't heard anything from the job i applied to. I'm actually going to a school with them tomorrow to help with a session (on forensics) so I guess even if I haven't got an interview I can get work experience out of hem. I have a feeling i really messed up the application. It's hard knowing what they want to hear. Also, rather than write a standard 'i can do this' statement, i went a bit mad and quoted feynmann and einstein. Still. I'll stand out.
It's spider season. They're EVERYWHERE. I have about 6 big cardboard boxes in my room (i live in al's) with stuff to evanually sell on tsuk, and i now have an irrational fear that they will be full of spiders.
I also have a massce case containing around 40 pairs of shoes to sell. When yu can happily ditch 40 pairs of shoes, you realise you have too much stuff. I've cut down so much, I'm proud.
I cannot type on this bloody macbook keyboard at all.

My macbook has broken after three weeks. Fabulous.
I was using it and charging my ipod through it without it being connected to the wall, left the room, came back and it had gone off and wouldn't come on - the light on the right hand side of the camera on the lid flashes a bit, but thats it. I thought the battery must have died so plugged it into the wall- nothing. I took the battery out and plugged it in, again nothing. I'm leaving it charging now but it still won't turn on. WHAT IS WRONG WITH IT?
This, combined with the fact that after a week the casing was coming lose, means it is going back to Apple and STAYING THERE. I'm sorry I ever doubted PCs.

I think I've been doing my literature review totally wrong. Which is fine, and changable- but I could really, really do with a example of a science literature review someone has done for their undegraduate degree? Anyone?
